Much more than just a simple container of objects representative of our past!
The permanent exhibition of the Museum includes about 20 display spaces located within Casa Maggetti. Accompanied by a red thread, the visitor takes a “memory walk” through a labyrinth of rooms, galleries, staircases, landings, etc., in which some particularly significant evidence of the past of the Centovalli and the Pedemonte is presented.
The display, in harmony with the complex structure of the building, presents the local cultural heritage through the exhibition of objects and works that form a homogeneous whole with which to rediscover the life and customs of the past. In addition to the ethnographic display, some spaces are dedicated to the figure and work of people who, for different reasons, have marked the local history. For example, Angelo Monotti of Cavigliano (one of the pioneers of photography in Ticino) or Ettore Jelmorini of Intragna (a carver-sculptor with a fine and authentic talent).
Regularly, the Museum also hosts art exhibitions, mainly dedicated to local artists.
Next to the Museum stands the Intragna Bell Tower, which at 65 metres is the tallest in Ticino. To visit the tower and climb up to the bell level, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view, contact the Museum.
