Monte Comino Cableway

On the opposite side of Rasa is Monte Comino, set in unspoilt countryside with a variety of fauna (hares, chamois and roe deer) and flora, which is characterised by beeches and conifers. A large natural, sun-kissed terrace at 1,200 metres.

A modern cableway, with a valley station that is located on the main street just 100 metres from Verdasio station, takes you up to Monte Comino. Sporty hikers can also tackle the climb from Verdasio or Corcapolo on foot.

There are a number of options once you arrive at the summit. It is a short walk to Madonna della Segna (15 minutes) or to the peat bog of Pian della Segna (25 minutes from the cableway), an important natural biotope. There are a number of trails and panoramic circular hikes offering a superb view of the surrounding mountains. On clear days you can see all the way to Monte Rosa.

The indicated duration includes the journey by train.

Combined ticket (train and cable car)

The ticket includes a round trip from Locarno to Verdasio and the round trip with the cable car Verdasio-Rasa. The ticket is valid only with departure from Locarno.
