Locarno and Domodossola: the towns at either end of the line
Locarno, the city of a thousand faces offers experiences for every taste. Nobody can resist the charm of the old town with its picturesque alleyways and the chic Piazza Grande, which has been made world-famous by the film festival. Interesting city museums and peaceful parklands are further defining features. Surrounded as it is by mountains, this splendid little city on Lago Maggiore ensures breathtaking views at any time of day that give you a real sense of what it is all about.
Domodossola is a town full of Medieval charm, located at the foot of the valley through which the Toce flows, at the entrance to seven Alpine valleys. In the old town, romantic squares alternate with alleyways which lead past impressive historical buildings. Stroll through this superb town, visit one of the museums or take a culinary break in one of the many restaurants before setting off on a shopping tour of the stores in the town centre.
